CHARD EVENING LEAGUE: 3Cs make cup final

CROWN scored 155-6 against White Horse in Division One of the Chard Insurance Evening Cricket League with Adam Cox hitting 36 and Chris May taking 2-12.

In reply, White Horse reached 98-5 with Chris May scoring 58 and Sam Johnson 31. Darren Grinter took 4-23.

Ilton hit 143-2 against Ilminster with Brett Venn scoring 112. In reply Ilminster scored 144-2 with Tomp Spurway 65no and Sam Spurway 57no.

Barrington scored 119- 5 against Kings Head with Andy Whitefield making 51. Kings Head took 11 overs to reach 120-1 with Paul Rideout scoring 70no thus ruining Barrington’s chances of winning the title.

Combe scored 126-8 against Casuals with Fenton Day making 50, while Rob Glentworth took 3-19. Casuals took 12.4 overs to reach 127-0 with Joe Draper and Glentworth undefeated on 62 and 60 respectively.

In Division Two, Perry Street made 152-3 against Thorncombe with Paul Grinter scoring 44 and Steve Every 35.

Thorncombe could only manage 74-9 in reply.

Merriott scored 109-6 against Hatch Beauchamp who knocked off the runs in 11.3 overs for no wicket with Scott Mackay on 68 and Martin Johnson on 39.

South Petherton were 121 all out against Martock with A. Smith scoring 28. S. Hillyard took 3-14 and T.

Woodgate 2-11. Martock took 13.2 overs to reach 122-2 with Guy Woodgate scoring 51 and Ed Sparrow 33no. Gavin Young took 2-25.

North Perrott were dismissed for 88 against Chardstock who scored 89-8 in reply.

In the semi-final of the cup, Ilton were all out for 85 against 3Cs with Rick Selway making 22, while Scott Wells-Burr claimed 3-11 and Andrew Sochon 2-10.

3Cs made 87-4 with Wells-Burr scoring 26 and John Scott 19no. Farmer Mactravers took 2-21.

Barrington made 77-9 against Casuals with Trevor Pitman scoring 22, while Nick Gray took 3-8.

Casuals scored 78-2 with Danny Cleal 34no and Tom Shire scoring 22.

■ The Evening League Cup Final between 3Cs and Casauals will be played on Friday, July 17, at Chard Cricket Club from 6.15pm. It will also see the annual presentation evening to league winners and runners-up, plus bowling award.
