FORTON youngster Emilia Smith has scooped a silver medal in the Under-14 girls’ long jump discipline at this month’s National Prep School Championships, held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
The talented 13-year-old leapt a distance of 4.81 metres to claim silver, having won bronze in the event last year.
She has been a member of Yeovil Olympiads Athletic Club since the age of 10, and participates in combined events athletics – though long jump remains her strongest and most consistent discipline.
Smith has been a student at King’s Hall in Taunton, and this coming school year sees her move on to King’s College with the assistance of a scholarship from the Taunton college.
