Ilminster Town Ladies 7, AEK Boco 2

LAST Sunday saw Ilminster Town Ladies play their final game of the season, a high-scoring affair at home to AEK Boco.

The game started slowly, but Erin Bloomfield has a knack of creating something out of nothing and, after a clever run into the box she was pushed over before picking herself up to convert the spot-kick.

The Blues doubled their lead before half time, as Bloomfield again broke into the box and calmly stroked the ball past the goalkeeper.

The hosts were fast out of blocks for the second half, as Bloomfield found Shannon Crouch, who finished confidently.

It was 4-0 just before the hour mark, when a bouncing ball was not claimed by the goalkeeper, and Crouch finished well from an angle.

Amy Burge joined the party with a drive into the corner after a defensive error from the visitors, and Maisie Parker made it 6-0, volleying in from Charlie Pettinger’s free-kick.

Bloomfield then sealed a hat-trick with 15 minutes left, finding space in the box to finish with aplomb.

Boco pulled two back late on, but the 7-2 win sees Ilminster finish eighth in the Premier Division, having been promoted last season.
