CHARD Town begin playing catch-up with their fixture list with a tricky trip to Bishop Sutton, who are always difficult to beat on their own ground, on Saturday (ko 3pm).

The Robins saw their scheduled home match with Chippenham Park postponed on Wednesday night, while this weekend's game is followed on Wednesday (March 21) with another home game, with Bishops Lydeard, which has already been postponed twice (ko 7.30pm).

Chard boss Paul Down said: “The fixture situation is becoming a concern.

“Hopefully the powers that be will see sense and extend the season.”

He went on: “Bishop Sutton on Saturday is never an easy place to go and no doubt ground conditions will be testing.”

Ilminster Town have also been frustrated by the rain of late, and they will try again this coming Saturday with an away match against bottom-of-the-table Wells City Reserves, who last played on February 17 when they lost 5-1 away at Nailsea United.

This represents a fine chance for Ilminster to pull themselves away from the dropzone, as they are only two points ahead of second-bottom Staplegrove, albeit with six games in hand.

As for Ilminster Town Reserves, they are due to play at the Archie Gooch Pavilion on Saturday, with a 3pm kick-off against Black Swan Town, in Macron Devon & Exeter League Division 5.

Ilminster are in ninth place, nine points clear of second-bottom Westexe Park Rangers, while Black Swan currently sit in second spot.

Combe St Nicholas face a very tough test in Division 1W of the Somerset County League as they host table-toppers Somerton Town (ko 3pm).
