SOMERSET County Cricket Club bowlers Dom Bess and Jack Leach have both been in action for England Lions against Jamaica XI, with Leach taking match figures of 3-47 from 16 overs in Kingston.

Neither had the chance to bat in the Lions' first innings, as the tourists declared on 263-8 (captain Keaton Jennings hitting 129 not out).

Jamaica were then all out for 236, and the Somerset spinners took a wicket apiece - Leach trapping Jamie Merchant lbw as he took 1-16 from seven overs, and Bess claiming a caught and bowled to dismiss Gordon Bryan in his 1-23 off four overs.

England managed 230 all out in their second innings, Leach managing one run and Bess four not out.

Leach then took two wickets - those of Garth Garvey and Assad Fudadin - for second innings figures of 2-31 off nine overs, with Jamaica on 131-4 as the match ended in a draw.

This was a warm-up match for the Lions ahead of their three four-day matches (February 11-14, February 18-21 and February 26-March 1) and three one-day matches (March 6, March 9, March 11) against West Indies A.

Later in March, Bess is set to represent the MCC against Essex in the traditional champion county match, in Barbados.
