CHARD Town travel to Calne Town on Saturday looking to extend their impressive away record of just three defeats in eight league matches, plus two more cup wins on the road, in the First Division of the Toolstation Western League (ko 3pm).

Chard fans, who have been starved of Saturday football so far this season, can watch Chard Reserves entertain Cullompton Rangers’ second string in Division 1 of the Macron Devon & Exeter League (ko 3pm).

Chard manager Paul Down will be hoping the promising partnership between central strikers James Boyland and Alex Stafie can be restored if Boyland, who was substitute in the win at Shepton Mallet, recovers fully from a toe injury.

Down will also be hoping skipper Taoufik Ben Salem, who has been out for a month with a thumb problem, will be fit to take his place in the squad.

Their hosts Calne have had a slow start to the campaign and currently sit 20th, with nine points from their opening 12 matches.

Chard, meanwhile, go into the weekend in 17th having picked up 14 points from as many games.

The Robins have been drawn at home to Wellington in the second round of the Somerset Premier Cup, with the tie to take place on Wednesday, November 8.
