CHARD Tennis Club members Harry Gawen and Ben Porter have been beating all before them while working in Canada.
The pairing, who play in Chard’s men’s team, found themselves working in Banff, in the valley of the Rocky Mountains, in Alberta.
While there, they decided to join the local tennis club where, last weekend, they teamed up to win the club’s annual pairs title.
Their competitive spirit saw them battle through to the final which they won 6-2, 6-3.
Back home, Chard’s various tennis teams have been winding down their Yeovil & District League campaigns.
The Mixed Doubles A team finished fifth in Division 1, the Men’s A team were promoted from Division 4 after ending as runners-up and the Ladies’ A team finished second in Division 1.
