WIMBLEDON fever will soon be with us, and pupils from Ilminster and Crewkerne have got their racquet fix in early with their own mini-red tennis competition.
Pupils from Greenfylde First School, Shepton Beauchamp Primary School, Ashlands First School and Misterton First School played a total of 28 matches down at the Ilminster Recreation Ground in a qualifying event for the District Mini-Red Tennis Competition.
After some hard-fought matches and wonderful team spirit from the young competitiors, Greenfylde A team were ultimately crowned the winners of the event.
The victors will now compete in the District Final, which takes place tomorrow at Martock Recreation Ground.
