SOMERSET will have to cope without all-rounder Lewis Gregory as they aim to continue an excellent week of 50-over performances as they travel to Glamorgan tomorrow (May 5) for their latest Royal London One-Day Cup fixture.

The 24-year-old, who has a back strain, has been replaced by Paul van Meekeren in the 13-man squad for the trip to Cardiff as the Cidermen aim to stay top of the table at a venue that does not hold too many fond memories for Somerset in recent years.

Matthew Maynard's side have not won in the Welsh capital in any competition since 2011, when Arul Suppiah claimed his world record T20 bowling figures of 6-5 as the hosts were skittled for 98, a total Somerset surpassed with the loss of five wickets.

Despite a poor record in this fixture away from home, Somerset did win the most recent encounter between the two sides, triumphing by 33 runs at the Cooper Associates County Ground in July last year.

Somerset’s batsmen go into the latest match in contrasting form - three different players have scored centuries in the tournament so far, but the top order remains prone to early collapses.

Opener Steve Davies is yet to score a run in three innings in the tournament, while the team have had to recover from 22-5, 59-3 and 19-2 in their victories to date.

The visitors will be in search of a stronger start to their innings tomorrow against a Glamorgan side who have lost two of their opening three matches.

Captain Jim Allenby goes up against his former club, while former Somerset all-rounder Craig Meschede is part of the hosts' squad.

Somerset squad: Jim Allenby (c), Steve Davies (wk), Peter Trego, Dean Elgar, James Hildreth, Adam Hose, Roelof van der Merwe, Johann Myburgh, Craig Overton, Josh Davey, Tim Groenewald, Max Waller, Paul van Meekeren.
