DUE to course maintenance, Cricket St Thomas Golf Club’s scheduled monthly medal was postponed on Wednesday, and the seniors opted instead for a three-man Texas scramble.

Although the greens were difficult, two teams managed sub-60 totals, with the spoils going to John Wandless’ side, who fared one shot better than Keith Potter’s trio.

A fighting finish by the trio led by Bob Hollingsworth saw them sweep through the field, finishing in third place, less than one shot behind.

Results
1. John Wandless; Bob Rees & Ian Fielder - 58.33
2. Keith Potter; Mike Burt & Ian Housham - 59.33
3. Bob Hollingsworth; Des Denning & Nick Gabb - 60.30

However, just one point ahead of the field were Barrie Heath and Chris Basterfield, who claimed the victory.
