ON Friday, 34 pairs entered the March Hare competition, the first of the seniors’ major competitions.

Conditions were tough due to strong winds, and bumpy putting surface, so the scoring was less than usual, but Peter Spencer-Farr and his partner Ian Housman amassed 43 points to win the trophy.

They were just two points ahead of their nearest rivals Trevor Dobson and partner Dave Porter – who, in turn, beat Barrie Heath and partner by a single point.
