WITH the river flooded, Ilminster AA members headed for Dillington Pond for round six of the Royal Oak sponsored winter league.
All the anglers had plenty of bites with lots of roach and rudd caught on maggots or casters on the pole or whip.
Justin Charles (Ilminster) enjoyed a lovely days sport, catching 13lb 6oz from peg 9, his winning net included some lovely quality roach.
Graham Field was second with 161 fish for 11lb 7oz from the peg 8 and Jamie Rich (Against Men and Fish/Burt Baits) was third with 9lb 13oz from peg 7.
After six matches Robin Cox heads the league with seven points followed by Charles on eight and Steve Parker on 11.
This Sunday there is a V.E.S. Precision match. The draw is at the Oak between 8.30am and 9am.
