CHARD 1st XV continue their tough season in National 3 (SW) when they visit runaway leaders Redingensians today.
Chard are almost certain to be relegated after last year’s promotion set them against a host of better funded and established sides.
They face Redingensians at the opposite end of the table and with a record almost the exact opposite.
While Chard have struggled to come to terms with the giant leap into national rugby, the opposition have taken the division by storm having won 14 of their 15 games and having a points difference of 323.
The rest of the season will certainly be an opportunity for Chard’s players to make the most of the experience and hopefully, gain a few scalps on the way.
Chard 2nd XV’s climb up the Somerset 1 table continued on Saturday with a 22-0 walkover victory over Cheddar, who they leapfrogged as a result.
Today they entertain leaders Chew Valley 2nds.
In Somerset 3 S, Chard 3rd XV will be looking for their third victory of the season when they travel to Castle Cary 2nds, who are second-from-bottom.
