CHARD B beat Yeovil and Sherborne C 6-0 in South East 3 of the Davis Wood league.

Chard started the brighter with some fine running but could not find a way through a strong defence.

And as the half progressed the home side became the better team as they commanded the midfield territory.

The star of the half was Nick Parkinson who put in an excellent performance. As he only left Yeovil earlier in the season, they probably wished they had kept hold of this young talent.

The second half was a different matter. Cheffey, the Chard captain, made some tactical positional changes and this helped Chard move the ball about more freely.

They used both the wings to great effect, the first two goals coming down the right with the crosses dispatched by Duncan Lewis.

Shortly afterwards he latched on to a Steve Dare penalty corner to notch up a hat-trick.

The goals kept on coming, The fourth was made by sheer determination and guile from Arthur Critchely who beat a number of players to score in the corner.

Lewis picked up a James Float cross to score while the final goal was a culmination of nicely worked interplay between the younger team members.

Toby Cooper found his way to the by-line and his pull-back eventually found Nathan Johnson who scored a well-deserved goal.

Yeovil resorted to quick passes from the back but could not find a way through the resolute Chard defence.
