ILCHESTER short mat bowlers helped to raise almost £2,000 for the Children’s Hospice SW when they took part in the Taunton & district league’s triples at Blackbrook.
A total of 61 teams from around Somerset and Dorset took part in the round-robin section of the competition during the morning.
The winners of each of the 16 groups went through to the knock-out stages of the main game while the runners-up progressed to the Plate competition.
Ilchester A, represented by Craig Lyttle, Rachel Watson and David Watson, finished runners-up in the Plate.
