CHARD Town renew their rivalry with Barnstaple Town tomorrow when the teams meet in the Les Phillips Cup.

After two close matches in the Toolstation Western league, they are set to do battle again in north Devon.

Barnstaple have taken Division 1 by storm this season, losing just once in 16 matches.

But the Robins only lost 4-3 when they played Barnstaple away while last Wednesday the two sides drew 0-0 at Zembard Lane.

And Chard will travel with plenty of confidence after enjoying the better of last week’s encounter despite effectively playing most of the second half with just ten men following an injury to Louis Gillman – their fourth of the match.

Manager Adam Fricker said: “We really had to dig in but the boys did everything that was asked of them and were even disappointed not to win.

“We are looking forward to having another go at them and the fact that our game against Wells City was postponed on Saturday was something of a blessing as it means most of our players will be fit.

“The only real doubt is Scott Holland who has a nasty cut on his knee.”

Next Tuesday the Robins have a league visit to Welton Rovers (7.30pm).
