CHARLOTTE Mooney struck five goals as Chard ladies revelled in the Sunday morning sunshine with a 6-0 defeat of Taunton Civil Service Development.
Lois Butcher controlled the midfield and passing between forwards Ros Clemmans, Georgia Caird and Lydia Harris split the Service defence to allow the talented Charlotte Mooney a chance to score two goals in quick succession.
With Sasha Taylor, Abbi Wheaton and Emma Cridland keeping the service team in their own half, it wasn’t long before Chard added two more – one from Caird and another from Mooney.
After half time the Taunton team came out with more confidence and keeper Carver-Bale had to make some good saves to keep her clean sheet.
Defenders Tina O’Connell and Sue Stoker picked up any attackers in Chard’s D and just before full time Chard were able to put the icing on the cake as Mooney strike twice more to complete her personal tally.
Umpires: Chris Long and Gary Wheaton. Sweeper: Kevin Mooney.
