ILMINSTER Town will be looking for a second cup victory in successive weekends when they visit Cutters Friday in Bristol tomorrow (2pm).

Last weekend the Blues cruised home in the second round of the Somerset Senior Cup with a 5-0 defeat of Churchill Club 70.

Scorers were Harry Hoseine (2), Alex Paul (pen), Taylor Jefferson and Chris Nezianya.

Ilminster were not at full-strength but still had far too much class for their opponents who play two divisions below in the Errea County league.

Their reward is a third round tie away to either Welton Rovers reserves or Hengrove reserves.

Cutters Friday, who the Blues meet in the Premier/Division 1 cup, are bound to provide far stiffer opposition.

They have won seven of their 12 matches to date and sit seven points clear of Ilminster in the table.

And when the two sides met in the league earlier in the season Cutters were 3-0 up inside the first half an hour before the Blues pulled back to 3-2.

Manley said: “Cutters score plenty of goals so we need to keep them quiet to give ourselves a chance.

“We did well on Saturday so I’ll be looking to keep the team pretty much the same this weekend.”

Ashley Lock remains suspended but Richard Crabb has served his ban.
