A STRONG Avishayes side took the honours when Holyrood Academy hosted a competition for Under-9s last Tuesday.
A total of seven schools took part, represented by 18 girls and 38 boys.
Conditions were seasonally blustery but all the teams showed promise and technique, impressing the Academy’s sixth form students who were officiating throughout.
Primary School Sports Co-Ordinator, Jason Hedaux, said the event demonstrated the Academy’s efforts to encourage competitive sport among children.
Principal Martin Brook added: “We are always looking for ways to further strengthen the links we have with our primary schools and these special events will remain a focus for Holyrood’s community efforts throughout the year.”
