CHARD Town will be looking to get their shooting boots back on Saturday when they entertain Keynsham Town in the Toolstation league (3pm).

The Robins have scored just twice in their last three matches, and manager Adam Fricker is hoping his side will quickly regain their goal touch.

Fricker said: “Against Cheddar on Saturday we simply didn’t take chances.

“We lost 1-0 but it could easily have been 4-4 at half time and we created another three or four good chances in the second half.

“Unfortunately we were made to pay because they scored with just about their only effort in the second period.

“It’s frustrating but I would be more worried if we weren’t creating the chances.

“On another day the story could have been quite different and I’m confident the goals will start to come.”

The Robins have only one injury ahead of Saturday’s game and that concerns new signing Craig Mawford.

Mawford, who played with Fricker at Wellington, has joined from Premier Division side Street and promises to be a very useful acquisition.

He made an immediate impact at right back but his debut came to a premature end when limped off holding his hamstring after half an hour.

However Fricker is hoping the problem is not serious and Mawford may well have recovered by the weekend.

Next Wednesday (November 5) Chard welcome league leaders and title favourites Barnstaple Town to Zembard Lane (7.30pm).

Fricker is expecting a tough test but will be taking heart from the Robins’ performance in north Devon earlier in the season when the home side scraped home 4-3.
