CHARD boss Adam Fricker is looking for a reaction from his players in the Les Phillips Cup tonight after their 7-1 hammering in the league at the weekend.

Fricker was able to draw very few positives from the hiding at the hands of Radstock Town at Zembard Lane on Saturday.

But he is hoping the Robins can prove the match was a one-off and bounce back to winning ways when they visit Calne Town tonight (7.30pm).

Fricker said: “Just over a week ago Radstock were bottom of the league with one win from 13 matches. But then last Tuesday, before playing us, they won 6-2 at Almondsbury.

“They’ve got a new manager and a number of new players so they are a lot better side than the table would suggest.

“Even so, it was probably the worst performance we’ve put in since I became manager.

“We we just didn’t turn up. As a team we were sluggish and second to every ball.

“To be fair we’ve got a good bunch of honest players and we rolled up our sleeves in the second half and showed a bit of heart.

“But it was still a bad day and we just can’t afford to have them.

“We need a reaction against Calne and I’m hopeful we can get it. They are a very strong, physical side but we beat them 3-1 at home earlier in the season so at least we can take some confidence from that.”

Fricker has no injury worries and can recall Louis Gillman following suspension.

On Saturday the Robins return to league action when they entertain Cheddar (3pm).
