WEST & Middle Chinnock put the disappointment of their Coronation Cup defeat by Crewkerne Town behind them when retaining second spot in the league with a 3-1 victory over Beaminster.

Liam Samways, Johnny Jackson and Sandy Veale netted a goal each for the winners after Alfie Ward had put the Dorset side ahead.

A Dan Peach brace was enough to keep Shepton Beauchamp three points clear at the top after they beat Lyme Regis Reserves by the odd goal in three.

Dan Edmonds was on target for Perry Street who are still waiting to register their first home point of the season following a 3-1 loss against Crewkerne Town.

Dave John, Pete Symes and Jason Manley bagged a goal apiece for Town who extend their unbeaten run to five.

In a thrilling end-to-end encounter between the bottom two clubs, Misterton finally got off the mark with a narrow 3-2 success at Ilminster Town Colts, but they had to work hard for the win.

Neil Hawkins put Missy ahead, only for Ilminster to hit back and go in front with goals from Josh Jackson and Kieran Rendell.

When Chas Warren was brought down inside the area, he got to his feet to put away the spot kick himself to level the scores. Warren then netted the winner late in the game.

The two teams at the top of the Division One table both won away from home by the odd goal as they held on to their 100% records.

Leaders Winsham United enjoyed a 1-0 win at Chard United, where a 25-yard free kick midway through the first half by Sam Symes was all that separated the sides.

Second placed Barrington had to come from behind to beat a fast- improving Forton Rangers 2-1.

Tom Brown gave Forton the lead 20 minutes into the second half, but Andy Whitefield made it all-square five minutes later. Guy Dare was on target for Barrington’s winner as he found the net from close range with eight minutes remaining.

Down at the bottom, Farway United are the only team who have still to get off the mark following their 4-3 defeat at fellow strugglers Luso-Chard.

Igor Costa struck twice for the hosts who completed their scoring through Olavo Riberio and Jose Marques.

Sam Dibling found the net twice for Millwey Rise as they were held to a 4-4 draw at Netherbury. Millwey’s other marksmen were Danny Larcombe and Joel Seaward.

Drimpton hit four goals without reply at Charmouth to open up a six point gap at the top of Division Two.

Terry Farrell scored a brace in the win to take his tally to nine while Paul Richards and Adam Tanner contributed a goal each.

Mike Usher hit a hat-trick for Combe B as they took over pole position in Division Four by beating Uplyme Reserves 10-3.

Matt Corrick and Neil Reed added doubles with Paul Stoodley, Graham Cleal and Ian Banfield also finding the net.

While Winsham United Reserves had a much depleted side due to player unavailability, their opponents Crewkerne Rangers Reserves were given the luxury of being able to field a strengthened line-up following the cancellation of their first team’s fixture.

And it was the Crewkerne outfit’s strength that won through as they beat their hosts 3-0 with goals from Martin Russell, Mark Holton and Jack Male.

Drimpton Reserves climbed off the bottom rung of the ladder by hitting six goals without reply past fellow basement dwellers Chard United All Stars.

The scorers were George Tuck (2), Dan Fry, Craig Studley, Ben Dickinson and player/manager Jason Mallett.

Matt Gaylard netted a consolation goal for Chard Rangers Reserves as they suffered a 6-1 reverse at Farway United Reserves.

n THE day’s top individual marksman was Paul Gold of Crewkerne Town Reserves who scored all of his sides goals in a 5-1 Daisy Hutchings Cup triumph at Chard Rangers. Max Patch was the home sides scorer.

Gethyn Jenkins was also in a scoring mood when he struck four goals for Barrington Reserves as they ended South Petherton Reserves interest in the competition by beating them 5-3.

Lee Richards, Jimmy Rees and Rob Glass hit a goal each for the losers while a Wes King penalty completed the winners total.

Coming together in the first round were the two Merriott teams, with Division Four’s Rovers hitting ten goals without reply to put out Division Three’s Dynamos.

Mark Tweedie led the rout by notching a hat-trick. Barry Wills and Danny Rudge added two goals each with singles from Ashley Cooper, Karl Tweedie and Sam Rowswell completing the rout.

There were celebrations for Hinton St George as they won their first match in the competition for six seasons when Ross Jewell and Danny Baker were on target in a 2-0 victory at Millwey Rise Reserves.

Division Three leaders Kingsbury’s involvement in the cup ended when they went down 3-1 at Hawkchurch.

The winners reached the next round courtesy of goals from Gavin Herrod, Andy Dymond and Jack Larcombe. Luke Monk replied for the visitors.

Chard United Reserves were beaten 2-0 at Combe A where goals by Ryan Scott and Ryan Hobbie saw the hosts through.

Three goals from Jake Bearpark put Uplyme on the way to an 8-0 verdict over Dowlish & Donyatt. The winners’ total was completed by a brace each from Niall Fifer and Tom Gollop with Dan Boot netting a single.
