A POOR first half display, when they were ‘off the pace’, ultimately cost Chard reserves all three points as they lost 2-1 at home to Elmore reserves in the premier division of the Fresha Devon and Exeter league.
Two goals from set pieces saw Elmore go in at the break 2-0 ahead before Max Westlake rounded the ‘keeper to reduce the deficit on the hour.
James Boyland outpaced the visitors’ defence to set up substitute Dan Anjos six yards out, but he put the ball wide.
Then Adam Tovey was bundled over in the box, and from the resultant penalty Tovey shot straight at the 'keeper.
Chard: Dale Wood, Jordan Chant (sub Dan Anjos 70 mins), Josh Parsons, Rob Stubbins, Shaun Wells-Burr, Max Westlake, Dan Aplin, Dan Harvey, Ben Mear, James Boyland, Adam Tovey.
