TWENTY-four teams of triples from various clubs gathered at South Petherton Bowling Club for the annual Will Masters competition, sponsored by Ash Honda.
After a couple of morning showers, the sun came out for a great day of bowling, All the games were very tight but, in the end, section A was won by Merriott with Chardstock in second.
Section B winners were South Petherton led by Martin Cornelius with another team from South Petherton led by Peter Mottram in second place, The third and fourth play-off was very close with Chardstock, led by Terry Dredge, taking third place from Peter Mottram’s team by 7-6.
The final was even closer as, after the 10 ends, the teams were level on 11 points each.
The game was decided with a one-end shootout and Merriott, led by John Parson, were the winners taking shot with his last wood.
