ANTICIPATION is rising ahead of Chard Town’s special tournament at Zembard Lane on Sunday, July 13.

The contest’s four managers have named their ‘dream teams’ and a fascinating afternoon’s football is in prospect.

Among the players on show will be former Benfica, Weymouth and Dorchester player Francisco Ramos along with Hung Dang, formerly of Spurs.

Chard’s Kiwi rugby captain Chris Doak will be trying his luck with a different shaped ball and current UK Street Skills Champion Faisal Mali is sure to add a considerable amount of flair.

With a host of former Exeter City and Yeovil Town professionals also on show the afternoon is bound to provide top entertainment.

The event will feature teams picked by first team manager Adam Fricker, assistant manager Jason Behan, reserve team manager Stuart Parris and first team player Jamie Barfoot.

Each squad must consist of two former professionals, two over-35s, two under-18s, one overseas player and one non-footballer.

The day is being organised by the club’s commercial manager, Adam Tovey, who said: “There is going to be food and drink served all day and the club are also showing the World Cup final in the clubhouse at 8.30pm.

The first game will be held at 1pm, the second at 2.30pm and the final at 5.30pm. Matches will be 30 minutes each way.
