THE draw for the 2014 Baker Cup has produced the following match ups for what will be the competition’s 77th successive season.

The preliminary round sees Somerset League Division 1 sides North Curry and Ashbrittle go head-to-head and the first round will see a South Somerset derby if Ilminster B overcome Middlezoy A.

A county town derby is going to happen in the first round with either Taunton Deane B or Old Crocks (based at Taunton School) hosting Taunton.

Another attractive tie in the first round is the visit of 2013’s runners-up Ashcott and Shapwick to Wellington.

Cup holders Taunton St Andrew’s host Middlezoy B.

Preliminary round (May 12): Fitzhead v Bagborough, North Petherton v Watchet, North Curry v Ashbrittle, Taunton Deane B v Old Crocks, Middlezoy A v Ilminster B.

First round (May 19): Taunton Deane A v Fitzhead/Bagborough, Bishops Lydeard v North Petherton/Watchet, Chard v Middlezoy A/Ilminster B, Staplegrove B v Ilminster A, Wellington v Ashcott and Shapwick, Taunton Deane B/Old Crocks v Taunton, Staplegrove A v North Curry/Ashbrittle, Taunton St Andrew’s v Middlezoy B.

The quarter-finals will be held on Monday, June ,2 leading to semi-finals at Taunton Deane on Monday, June 16, and Taunton on Monday, June 23. The final will be played at the County Ground on Thursday, July 3.

The Terry Mockridge Memorial Shield will start on Monday, June 2, with the semi-finals taking place at Wellington on Monday, June 30, and Monday, July 7.

The final is being played at Staplegrove on Monday, July 14.
