THE finals of the Ilminster Bowls Club’s Indoor Competitions featured some outstanding matches.

The Men’s Singles was won by Matt Hamilton beating Tony Peterson by 21- 12. This was a very good performance by Tony getting to the Final in his first full year of indoor bowling.

The Ladies’ Singles Champion is Heather Grinter.

The Ladies Pairs was the pick of the games with a tremendous match between Dot Whelan and Heather Sims and Myra Childs and June Checketts lasting three-and-a-half hours.

The lead changed hands on a number of occasions until, with the scores at 21-all, Myra and June got over the line by one shot, 22-21.

The Hector Hutchings mixed triples was won by Louis Ridout, John Ridout and Will Anderson beating Alison Atyeo, Matt Hamilton and Sue Spurway by 20-3.
