Needed our biggest performance of the season, produced our worst. Terrible #ytfc— @Louis_Purchase 29 March 2014
That's it at Huish Park, Yeovil have been comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Barnsley. Goals coming from O'Grady (x2), Lawrence and Jennings. Survival could be very hard now.
Barnsley, as expected, are comfortably seeing this game out now. A lot of empty seats at Huish Park as we enter the final few minutes.
Final substitution for Yeovil as Adam Morgan replaces Tom Lawrence.
4-1. It gets worse for Yeovil as Dale Jennings scores a fantastic solo effort. That is game over.
3-1. Chris O'Grady has scored his second of the match.
Barnsley have doubled their lead and dealt a huge blow to Yeovil's survival hopes. The Glovers lost possession on the edge of their own box and Liam Lawrence fires past Stech.
Second substitution for Yeovil as Liam Davis replaces Kevin Dawson. Some real pace on either wing for the hosts now.
First substitution for Yeovil as Kieffer Moore is replaced by James Hayter with an hour gone.
1-0 to the visitors! It's a goal Byron Webster won't want to watch again as his header back towards Stech was too short allowing O'Grady too coolly lob the ball over the stranded Yeovil keeper.
Yeovil immediately onto the front foot with Dawson playing in Joe Edwards, who is only denied an effort on goal by a brilliant covering tackle from Stephen Dawson.
We're back underway at Huish Park where it remains goalless. Yeovil are attacking the Copse Road end in the second half.
No substitutions for either side at the break.
Probably one of the worst halves of football I've ever seen. #YTFC and #BarnsleyFC both lacking cutting edge in a game neither want to draw— @JonathonTaylor1 29 March 2014
That was such a boring half #YTFC— @MattYtFcwood 29 March 2014
Some half-time thoughts from those at the game coming up.
Yeovil Town 0-0 Barnsley.
A frenetic opening 45 minutes at Huish Park but little by way of quality for either side. Tom Lawrence closest to opening the scoring after a neat free-kick routine.
Kieffer Moore receives lengthy treatment after taking a blow to the head. The former Dorchester striker returns to the pitch however, complete with head bandage.
Yeovil force a save out of Luke Steele for the first time from a great free-kick routine. Joe Edwards slid the ball in to Dawson whose flick found Lawrence who saw his effort tipped over the bar.
Current scores in the Championship which may interest Yeovil:
Birmingham 0-3 Bournemouth
Derby 1-0 Charlton
Leeds 0-1 Doncaster
QPR 0-1 Blackpool
Danny Wilson's side starting to see most of the ball in the sunshine at Huish Park. They're beginning to push for an opening goal.
Forced substitution for Barnsley as Marcus Pedersen cannot continue. The striker is replaced by Reuben Noble-Lazarus.
A little over 20 minutes played and the game still lacks any real quality. Gary Johnson's side are struggling to retain possession currently.
Ishmael Miller is causing Barnsley one or two problems with his pace and power. The Nottingham Forest loanee cuts in well from the right but has his powerful shot blocked.
First spell of pressure for the Glovers.
A dangerous Joe Ralls free-kick whipped in from the right wing narrowly misses the head of Ishmael Miller and eventually goes through to keeper Luke Steele.
First attempt on goal 8 minutes into the match and it comes from the visitors.
Joe Ralls' sloppy pass 25 yards from goal ended with Chris O'Grady having an effort deflected wide for a corner.
Today sees two brothers go up against each other. Kevin Dawson (Yeovil) and Stephen Dawson (Barnsley) both start for their respective sides.
We're underway at Huish Park with Yeovil attacking the home terrace in the first half.
Some background into both team's form coming into this match.
Yeovil have lost just twice in their last ten fixtures and are unbeaten in three. Meanwhile, Barnsley have lost five of their last ten, but won their last fixture (3-1 away to Reading).
10 minutes until kick off at Huish Park and the atmosphere is building. There is a real sense of occasion surrounding this fixture.
What a crucial match this is at the bottom of the Championship. Yeovil and Barnsley are 22nd and 23rd respectively and level on points (32), with the Glovers only above the Tykes on goal difference.
A draw is no good for either side in their respective bids for survival.
An hour until kick off at Huish Park and here is the team news:
Yeovil starting XI: Stech; Ayling, Webster, Duffy, McAllister; Dawson, Edwards, Ralls, Lawrence; Moore, Miller.
