ILMINSTER Town Ladies reached the final of the Somerset Women's Junior County Cup with a 1-0 defeat of Nailsea United ladies.
Nailsea started the brighter of the two teams in but never really troubled the Ilminster goal.
The visitors gradually worked their way back into the game and created some good chances without being able to convert them into goals.
Ilminster fancied their chances playing down the hill in the second half and they pushed forward even more, creating further chances but still struggling to find the net.
Ilminster eventually started to find their range and came close when a good effort from Sarah Roxburgh beat the keeper but came back off the post.
With ten minutes to go a good move and excellent work saw Dee Cracknell beat the tight Nailsea offside trap and calmly slot home at the near post.
Nailsea came close from a corner which Ilminster cleared off the line, but Ilminster stayed calm to run out winners.
Player-of-the-match was Jenny Frost for her tireless effort in an unfamiliar role at centre forward.
Ilminster now meet Brislington in the final.
