CHARD Under-18s won 2-0 at Glastonbury in the southern division of the Somerset Floodlight Youth league.
They took the lead midway through the first half when Louis Irwin’s corner was volleyed into the net by Connor Richardson.
Chard were indebted to ‘keeper Jake Symes for a brilliant penalty save to retain their lead.
Then midway through the second half Chard sealed the points when Irwin broke away to cleverly lob the on-rushing keeper.
Chard, whose trip to Wells is now being played tonight (Wednesday), are in league action again next Tuesday when they entertain Street at Zembard Lane (7.30pm).
