ALEX Maggs, who had never previously scored for Chard, broke his duck in style with six goals as Chard A beat Plymouth University 10-0 in South East 2 of the Davis Wood league.
Partnered the prolific Dan Stone in attack, Maggs took his chance with both hands.
In the first half Chard played excellent passing hockey, and opened up the visitors defence time and again to lead 5-0 by half time.
Although less fluent after the break, largely because of profligate finishing and over zealous attacking resulting in a loss of shape, Chard still managed to double their lead.
Stone scored a brace, with Gareth Eggle and Jack Whitefield grabbing the others.
Youngsters Danny Grabham and Harry Felgate combined well on the left wing.
Umpires: Hannah McGowan and Jim Sainsbury.
