IN a game between two very well-matched sides Chard Ladies beat Taunton Civil Service 2-1 in Sedgemoor Division 2 of the South West Women's league.
Chard opened the scoring with some very skilled play and a superb strike from Maya Preston.
With play flowing from end to end Civil Service came back fighting and eventually equalised just before half time.
Chard had some good attempts themselves but were thwarted by some very good goalkeeping.
Chard stuck to their task in the second half and took the lead with 14 minutes to go through Ruth Butcher.
However Civil Service kept plugging away and with seconds to go won a short corner. Thankfully the effort was cleared by Chard’s s player of the match Lou Wrightson to secure the win.
Umpires: Chris Long and Kyle Wheaton.
