STRIKER Conor Washington has passed a medical and penned a three-and-a-half year deal to seal his move from Newport Coungty AFC to Peterborough United A statement from the League One club confirmed that the 21-year-old's move to London Road has now officially been completed.

The statement reads: "Peterborough United are pleased to confirm that striker Conor Washington has passed a medical and penned a three-and-a-half year contract at London Road.

"Washington will go straight into the squad for Wednesday night's scheduled Sky Bet League One clash at Sheffield United.

"The 21-year-old, who scored over 60 goals at St. Ives in as many appearances, trained with his new team-mates on Tuesday. Striker Shaun Jeffers has joined Newport as part of the transfer."

Posh manager Darren Ferguson said: "Conor is a player that has good pace, he can play on the shoulder and I think we needed that variation. Conor gives us that different option.

"He was desperate to come to us, he wanted to sign and I am pleased to have him on board. He will go straight into the squad for Wednesday's game.

"He has played a lot of games this season so he doesn't need time to get up to speed."
