CHARD, who enjoyed a comfortable 26-0 victory at Sidmouth last weekend, can expect some much tougher opposition in the next few weeks with a run of games against teams at the top of the table.

On Saturday they have a very attractive home game against Hornets who beat them comfortably earlier in the season at Weston. The game kicks off at 2.30pm and the club is hoping for a big turnout of home supporters.

The postponed game against St Austell will be played at Chard on Saturday, 1st February 1 with the France v England game being shown live in the clubhouse after the game.

The 2nd XV game at Midsomer Norton last Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch while the 3rds were given another very frustrating walkover because Castle Cary were unable to raise a team.

This Saturday the 2nds are away to Old Redcliffians while the 3rds are at Crewkerne. Both games kick off at 2.30pm.
