CHARD will travel to Devizes on Saturday with a ‘massive’ amount of confidence according to manager Adam Fricker.

The Robins followed up an excellent performance against high-riding Shepton Mallet with a 2-1 success at home to Wells City on Saturday.

And Fricker is pleased with the way his side are playing at the moment.

He said: “We dominated the game throughout the 90 minutes against Wells and just made one defensive lapse which gave them a 1-0 lead.

“Playing down the slope in the second half you could see we had a great chance of going on to win the game and that’s the way it worked out.

“We’ll now go into the game against Devizes with massive confidence the way we are playing at the moment.”

Fricker decided not to risk striker Sam Clark, who has been suffering from an ankle injury, but last season’s league top scorer is expected to start on Saturday.

Chard beat Devizes 2-0 at Zembard Lane in August but were flattered by the result and know they will have no easy task against opponents lying seventh in the table.
