CHARD’S Under-18s’ title hopes in the southern division of the Somerset Floodlight League suffered a blow when they were beaten 3-1 by Bath at Radstock.
Chard found themselves 2-0 down at the break after both Louis Irwin and Callum MacHattie missed chances.
Chard got on top after the interval and MacHattie squandered two one-on-ones with the Bath ‘keeper.
However Irwin, who later went off with a groin injury, was successful in pulling one back when clean through.
Then Matt Buse lifted one chance over the bar for the visitors, before the home side caught Chard on the counter to have the final say.
Next Tuesday (December 17) Chard have a top-of-the-table home clash against leaders Cheddar, looking to complete a league ‘double’ at Zembard Lane (7.30pm).
Chard: Conner Richardson, Lewis Fisher, Dan Edmonds, Jordan Chant, Jordan Storey, Cory Slocombe, Matt Buse, Billy Shehan, Callum MacHattie, Bradon Symes, Louis Irwin. Subs (both used) Kieran Adams, Dan Anjos.
