CHARD Town Reserves produced another excellent all-round team performance to secure a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Seaton Town in the premier division of the Devon and Exeter league on Saturday.

The Robins started slowly with the home side creating some early pressure, and it didn’t take long for the host to take the lead, when on 12 minutes a long throw made it through a crowded penalty box to somehow hit a Chard defender and find its way into the net.

Seaton had further chances to add to their lead, but Chard gradually started to get into the game with Gary Warren, Craig Every and Adam Tovey shooting wide and a bullet header from Ryan Parris hitting the post just before half time, it looked like a goal was on the cards.

The second half start like the first half finished with Chard taking the game to Seaton, with Gary Warren shooting straight at the keeper and the rebound fell to Craig Every and his snap shot was just over the bar.

Chard continued to press the Seaton goal with Gary Warren, Adam Tovey, Craig Every and Danny Aplin all going close.

The goal was starting to look like it was never going to come, with Adam Tovey out stripping the home defence and his looping shot went just past the post and Shaun Wells-Burr headed over from a Warren corner.

But on 68 minutes Chard got what they deserved when Kieran Bailey put Gary Warren through and he calmly took the ball around the keeper and finished from a tight angle.

Chard had dominated the second half and it looked like they would be going on to get another goal, but they could find a way through the strong Seaton defence.

This was another excellent all round team performance, and have another tough test when they entertain current champions Feniton Town on Saturday (3pm).
