MARY Rosina Baker of Ilminster, died at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, on March 11. She was aged 91.

The funeral, conducted by Canon John Simpson, took place at St Andrew's Church, Dowlish Wake on March 21, and featured the hymns Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, The Old Rugged Cross, and O God Our Help in Ages Past.

The service was followed by burial at Ilminster Cemetery.

Canon Simpson also gave the sermon, and tributes in the form of a brief life history and two poems were given by Andrea Charles (granddaughter), Stuart Baker (grandson) and Carly Wills (great-granddaughter). A reading from The Song of Solomon was given by grandson Patrick Giles.

John and Mary Rendell of Ilminster supplied the beautiful family flowers - a cross from Mr Baker and his children, with separate tributes from grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other floral tributes came from Kath Sweeting, Sandra and Peter Noake, Dean and Sam, and Isla Baker and family.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Paul Whitmore of A.J. Wakely & Sons, 7 West Street, Ilminster.

The family would like to offer their thanks to all who attended the service and for all donations. We are also very grateful to Drs Williams and Odgers and all the staff at the Broadway Surgery, and to the doctors and nursing staff at Musgrove Park Hospital for all the kind attention that Mrs Baker received over many years.
