SOUTH Somerset’s MP was among those who attended a sold-out flower demonstration near Chard.
Marcus Fysh was among the crowd for the ‘Let’s Celebrate Autumn’ themed demonstration, at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall.
Somerset’s award-winning floral designer, Jackie Nicholls from Ashville Design, said: “Apart from the focus being on fun, flower arranging and education, this event was designed to promote friendship through flowers – and that was definitely achieved.
“I encouraged a bring and share lunch and was absolutely amazed at the amount and quality of food that started arriving – nobody went hungry.”
Among the 30 designs made for the raffle was an exclusive piece created for a demonstration at The Royal Horticultural Society’s annual July Rose Festival this year.
Marcus Fysh said: “I had a wonderful time attending the flower arranging and admiring the beautiful flower arrangements on display. It was great to see so many members of the local community get together for such a fantastic event as brilliantly organised by Jackie Nicholls.”
