REDSTART School came out on top in this year’s QuadKids event, which saw nine schools competing across four events.

The competition, now in its ninth year, saw a total of 105 pupils from Buckland St Mary, Chard, Chardstock, Combe St Nicholas, Manor Court, Redstart, Greenfylde, Swanmead and Thorncombe schools take part.

The four events were standing long jump, howler throw, 75 metre sprint and 600m run.

Robin Williams, Chard Rotary’s president elect, said: “This year’s QuadKids was a great success and was really enjoyed by everyone who took part, either as a competitor or as a helper.

“Parents who attended have said what a wonderful afternoon they had, schools have commented on how well things were organised and how good it was that Rotary had ensured that friendship was as important as the competition.”
