A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A303

Emergency services have been rushed to the scene after the crash saw one car collide with a wall near Bridge House Park, South Petherton at around 9am this morning (May 15).

Two fire engines from Martock and the rescue tender from Yeovil were called to a report of the car hitting a wall and it was unknown whether or not anyone was trapped within the vehicle.

Upon arrival, the fire crews confirmed nobody was trapped, but the female was taken to Yeovil District Hospital with a head injury.

The fire engines were used to create a safe area in the road for firefighters to work whilst they were making the scene safe.

A spokesman for the police said they were called at around 9.10am to a car in collsion with a garden wall.

The car had received some damage but there were no reported injuries.

Traffic is now clear and running normally.
