STUDENTS from Hazelbury Plucknett School have taken part in an annual poetry competition.
The competition was started by Alison Stevens, a school governor, when she donated a cup for the event and is held annually. The event was judged by Ann Meades, a governor, and Katy McSparron.
The poems heard during the event ranged from Humpty Dumpty to The Jabberwocky.
The hall was filled with children, parents and families who came to hear the children’s rhyming creations, with some dressing up and using props.
The Friends of Hazelbury Plucknett School provided refreshments.
The money raised from the poetry event will be added to the ICT equipment fund.
