AN Ilton man accused of being aggressive to the police when they were called to his address following reports of a disturbance has been ordered to stand trial before Somerset Magistrates.

Barry Wilfie Isaacs, allegedly became aggressive when asked to leave the site and shouted: “I’ll wrap the taser round your throat” when they tried to arrest him.

The 28-year-old defendant, of Chubbards Cross Caravan Park, admitted wilfully obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty at Ilton on December 7.

He also denied using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause somebody harassment, alarm or distress on the same date when he appeared in court at Yeovil.

Prosecutor Emma Lenanton said police were called to the caravan site in Ilton at 12.30am and Isaacs became aggressive and behaving in a threatening manner.

Following a review of the case both Matters were adjourned until April 28 when Isaacs was ordered to return to the court for a trial to take place. In the meantime He was released on unconditional bail.
