RESIDENTS at a care home in South Petherton had some special visitors.

Alpacas paid a visit to Burnworthy House on Friday, giving everyone a chance to meet some new furry friends and find out more about the animals.

Cynthia Sheppard, one of the activity co-ordinators at the home said: "It was very good, they went round to all the residents so everyone had a chance to see them and I think the residents were thoroughly pleased.

"We have lots of visitors to the home including other animals ans children and everyone really enjoys it.

"It was especially nice for our residents with dementia as the visit got them talking and brought back memories."

Wendy Williams, who runs Alpaca Adventures, said: "It was a very successful both for the residents and ourselves as everyone really enjoyed seeing the alpacas.

"We could also go see residents in their rooms so nobody missed out."
