COURT: Ilton woman to stand trial accused of assaulting partner twice
AN ILTON woman accused of assaulting her partner twice after mistakenly receiving a Facebook message meant for another woman he had allegedly got pregnant, has been ordered to stand trial.
Emma Jane Lawrence, 31, of Penny’s Meade, appeared before Somerset Magistrates sitting as a special domestic violence court in Yeovil.
She denied two counts of assaulting the victim by beating him at their home in Chard on January 4 and 5. Following a pre trial review the case was adjourned for a trial to take place on May 13.
Until then Lawrence was released on conditional bail on the understanding she does not contact the complainant directly.
