A CREWKERNE man has been ordered to stand trial at Taunton Crown Court accused of threatening another male with a knife and causing grievous bodily harm.

Ricardo Guerreiro, 25, of South Street, was brought before Somerset Magistrates at Yeovil in custody.

He was charged that on April 25 at Martock he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Jasper Fry with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

He was further alleged on the same date to have been in possession of a kitchen knife in Oakland Drive in Martock and unlawfully and maliciously threatened Jasper Fry with that knife in such a way that there was an immediate risk of serious physical harm to him.

The defendant did not enter any pleas to the offences and the magistrates said they were so serious that he must be sent straight to the crown court to stand trial.

They adjourned the case and ordered him to appear before a preliminary hearing at Taunton on November 9.
