THE Somerset Dolls House & Miniatures Club, based in Ashill, has celebrated its 25th birthday.

The club was formed in February 1990 and initially met in members’ homes with workshop days in the village hall.

But it soon became necessary to hire the hall for all meetings, as popularity soared and the membership grew.

Members have exhibited dolls houses and room boxes at local museums and events.

They had lunch at The Five Dials in Horton to celebrate the birthday and the club’s archives could be viewed to refresh their memories.

Dolls house fans meet on the first Wednesday of every month, except January, at Ashill village hall from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
