THE residents of The Seavingtons don’t need much Image goes national encouragement to celebrate and last Saturday saw an annual village tradition maintained.

Father Christmas arrived at The Seavingtons Village Store in Water Street in a 1927 Renault NN driven by Laurie Ensor.

Children and adults turned out to greet him and Chris and Sally Gough played festive music for everyone to join in with.

Mulled cider and mince pies were served in the café and the shop did a brisk trade, with its selection of Christmas goodies proving very popular. Many people bought novel gifts at the craft fair in the shop.

The Christmas draw organised by Clive and June Reeves took place and the first prize was a turkey.

Chairman of The Shop Association Mark Ellis said: “The shop and café provide a wonderful venue for our celebration.

“The warm atmosphere and convivial surroundings are perfect for the visit of Father Christmas.
