THE Neroche DFAS has given an annual National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Society bursary to support a school in the field of art. Each year, they offer the bursary to encourage the study of the arts.
It is presented either to individual young and local artists active in the field of art, design, music, dance or performance arts, or to schools in the area needing extra funding to run art visits and projects.
This year the £400 was awarded to Buckler’s Mead Academy in Yeovil.
The award will enable the school to take a party of students up to London to visit the Tate Modern.
Neroche DFAS is the oldest branch of NADFAS in the South-West and holds monthly talks at Dillington House.
