A CANCER patient from South Petherton has thanked everyone who has supported his fundraising events for Macmillan Cancer Care.
Alex Kersey-Brown, 72, is undergoing treatment for lung cancer.
He has been so impressed with the support he has received from the Macmillan Cancer team at Yeovil Hospital that he decided to raise money for the unit.
Almost £300 was raised at Long Sutton Golf Club and a further £500 from a skittles night and raffle at The Brewers Arms, in South Petherton.
Mr Kersey-Brown said: “The staff at the unit make such a difference. “I started my treatment in September and I’ve decided the best thing to do is to stay positive; there’s no point sitting down saying you aren’t well enough to do anything.
“It’s been brilliant raising the money and I can’t thank enough everyone who has supported the cause.”
